Yesterday I was attending a 3 days workshop on Discover Yourself by HG Sukumar Das at ISKCON Nasik. During the seminar, he was telling us a lot of things about hormones such as endorphins, serotonin, dopamine, oxytocin, etc.
Serotonin is the key hormone that stabilizes our mood, feelings of well-being, and happiness. This hormone impacts your entire body. It enables brain cells and other nervous system cells to communicate with each other. Serotonin also helps with sleeping, eating, and digestion.
My cyclothymia lasted for 5 years during which I was obviously depressed and anxious. I used to sleep for 14 hours a day. And I still struggle with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) which is a digestion and bowel control disorder. So all this anxiety and depression is connected to serotonin deficiency as we know of.
HG Sukumar Das said, “The best way to increase & boost your Serotonin levels is to help others.”
That’s it.
He guaranteed and claimed that if you genuinely help others in whatever way possible you will never need medications for serotonin deficiency.
By helping others the anxieties, sleep disorders, and depression will significantly reduce over time. We just have to be persistent and determined about it. This is a nice experiment we can try, after all, we have nothing to lose by doing so.
I recently launched a new online course on “Depression Counseling made Simpler and Effective – MDD” In this course I share a lot of unique insights on how to treat depression which you will find nowhere else. So check this out.
